We'll have Points and Clicker, for individuals and teams, as well as the Padded Contact that we enjoyed so much a few months ago. Make sure you have all your protective equipment for the tournament and make sure you sign up for everything! The more competitors we have the better it will be.
This year it's going to be at Petersham Town Hall, a most amazing venue, and maybe the best one we've had to date! Bring your friends and family to watch - there's more than enough room. If it was good enough for Strictly Ballroom, it's good enough for us! There's plenty of parking in couple of council carparks on the other side of Crystal St.
A flier with details is attached, as is a parking map image.
Entries are $50 and spectators 12 years and over are $10 online.
Click on the date to add the new date to your Google Calendar if you're planning on being ready for it? Are you ?
If you want to grade for 4th kyu and up, check with your instructor NOW to see whether you're eligible. Keep working on your techniques and stamina NOW. There's not much time left! Here's a tip - make sure your zenkutsu dachi is up to par- REALLY - I mean it - make sure your zenkutsu dachi is good (and all your other stances too)!

Benny "the Jet" Urquidez is in Sydney again for a couple of seminars at Jim Sheedy's Personal Defence Studio in the Sutherland Shire. I went last year with Alex Carrr and we both got a lot out of it.
Sensei Benny pioneered full contact fighting in the US , and has been a legend and leading figure in the martial arts community since the 1970s, when he was the first non-Japanese kickboxer to beat the reigning Japanese champion. One of the significant differences between him and many other well known martial artists we see in the movies is that he has a very solid real life full-contact fight record. He has also been fight stunt and fight coordinator for many of movies (Check out his IMDB profile)and there's a classic scene of him fighting Jackie Chan.
If you're interested in going, the cost is $80 payable at the seminar. I will be going on the Saturday, and I have room for 4 people in my car.
It's highly recommended, to broaden your outlook on the martial arts, and would suit any of the adults, as well as teenagers yellow belt and up.
This is currently planned for the 24th November, but we haven't confirmed a venue yet, though we have tentatively booked the same place as last year.
If you have any suggestions that would be fun for about 90 children and adults, please let me know ASAP so that we can look into it.
Keep training hard!
